WE HAVE A MISSION
We rescue homeless dogs and train them to be service dogs for veterans living with Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and/or Military Sexual Trauma (MST).
350,000
Dogs are euthanized every year
22
Veterans take their own lives in the United States everyday
20%
Of our friends and neighbors are suffering with TBI, MST or PTSD
We want to improve those odds.
Our trainers find the very best canine candidates, rescue them from shelters, and train them for a new life filled with purpose and affection. Local veterans can participate in training without leaving their jobs or families and find relief from the debilitating symptoms of TBI, PTSD, MST and other challenges.
We continue to lose veterans to suicide every day. Meanwhile, animal shelters are bursting beyond their capacity.
For the past decade, we’ve been able to come to the rescue of more dogs and more veterans than we ever could have imagined. Dogs get the homes they need, and veterans get the help they deserve. As always, our programs are offered at no cost.
As we celebrate our ten-year anniversary, more veterans are reaching out for our help.
Our response: double the number of dogs we can rescue, train, and match with vets in the coming year with the opening two satellite locations in Jamaica Plains MA and Franklin NH. But we can’t do it without you!
When an individual takes an oath to serve their country, they are making a commitment to give everything they have. That’s what it means to answer the call to serve. It’s time now for us to answer the question: How far are we willing to go to help those who gave so much?
Vets always ask how we are able to provide their Delta Dog and other services at no cost – and react with disbelief when they learn it’s made possible by a community that cares enough to come to their aid.
Let’s pull together to show the men and women who need our help now that we’re willing to lay it on the line and go all the way. They answered the call. Now, it’s our turn.
Thank you for all you do for our veterans!
