Operation Delta Dog is currently exploring the possibility of adding new volunteer positions, including the ones described below. Please indicate if you might be interested in applying for any of these positions… Thank you!* GOVERNMENT RELATIONS MANAGER Make regular contact with local and state politicians, keep them posted on OpDD’s activities and progress, inquire about government funding where appropriate. Particular attention paid to veteran’s departments and politicians with a history of helping veterans’ causes CORPORATE RELATIONS MANAGER Work to develop new relationships and partnerships with New England corporations. For example, last year Aetna awarded OpDD a $10,000 grant as part of its annual holiday giving program. Many companies have similar giving programs but have never heard about OpDD; this position would help to change that. MEDIA COORDINATOR As the recent partnership with WZLX showed, media exposure can make all the difference in spreading the word about OpDD’s mission. This volunteer position would create new partnerships with other media outlets (television, magazine, newspaper, social media) by creating press releases, etc. EVENT MANAGER Take a lead role in planning and executing special events such as the Walk & Wag for Veterans. Explore avenues for new special events and fundraisers. MARKETING AND DESIGN SPECIALIST Create a marketing packet that OpDD can use to approach new sponsors and donors. Improve the organization’s graphics on brochures, rack cards, merchandise, etc. Create an Annual Report for springtime pledge drive. VETERAN’S HOMETOWN ADVOCATE Target short-term fundraising efforts based on the hometowns of current OpDD veterans. For example, if the next veteran on the waiting list is from Cambridge, we would send press releases, appeals, etc. to the press and businesses in Cambridge that say, “Your hometown hero is waiting for a service dog! With your help, we can get him off the waiting list and into the training program.” This would be an ongoing outreach effort with a change in location every few months. VETERAN’S LIAISON Maintain contact with current participant veterans and those who have graduated (check-ins and follow-ups, problem solving, etc.) FOSTER COORDINATOR Work with Training Director to identify short-term foster homes and place dogs as needed. Transport dogs to and from foster homes if needed. I waive my rights to assert any claim for loss, cost injury or damages against the Owner of the Hollis Hampshire, LLC and Vear Commercial Properties property and/or Operation Delta Dog, their officers, agents, trustees, directors, employees, and members, present or future, arising from, related to, or in any way connected with the Operation Delta Dog’s use of the Hollis Hampshire LLC/Vear Commercial Properties property. ** I have read and agree to the above statement.
